David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
