Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Social Media
The woman, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a set of images on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left multiple people injured. Rice was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
